Adoption Services.....

A Choice you can live with...

Catholic Social Service Bureau offer a honest and flexible form of adoption called open adoption that recognizes that the birthparents and the adoptive parents can work together in a relationship that is better for all.

"Doesn't Open Adoption mean co-parenting?" No. Through counseling, birthparents learn that choosing adoption means giving up their right to parent their child. But in Open Adoption, birthparents have the opportunity to express their love for their child...and a child can never get too much love.

Won't the child be confused? Because there are no secrets in Open Adoption, there is less chance for confusion. Children know who mom and dad are, and who their birthparents are. Just like they figure out which Grandma is which and how they are related to them. As long as the adults are comfortable, so are the children.

The Adoption Counseling Department focuses on open adoption where both birth parents and adoptive parents work together to advance the interest of the child. CSSB adoption professionals assist both birth families and adoptive families to prepare for an individualized adoption according to the needs and preferences of both families. CSSB also offers counseling, education and a screening process to help ensure a healthy adoptive experience.
